Sacramento,CA.-When Northern California real estate agent Tamara Dorris decided to embark upon an aggressive and innovative new promotional program, focusing upon socially conscious strategies she had no idea she was gana gain so much more than a larger share of the local residential market.

Denio’s awards annual education scholarship to local students

ROSEVILLE – Denio’s Roseville Farmers Market & Swap Meet announced today that employees Marisa Mollera, Joshuah Kerby and Jessica Decoque have been named the recipients of the 2011 Denio’s Scholarship.

The education award is given annually to young employees who are excelling in the classroom, show initiative while working at Denio’s, and have also been active in community service. All three employees received a $1,000 scholarship from Denio’s to help offset the costs of college.

All three teens have been employed by Denio’s for over a year and work in food service.

“What I loved about all three of these young people is they are extremely hard workers that are always eager to take on new job responsibilities and accept new challenges,” said Ken Denio, Owner of Denio’s Farmers Market & Swap Meet.

This week, "Bringing It Home" TV show host Laura McIntosh tells us how to make BBQ Pork Ribs:

Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Dried Parsley
1/2 Cup Cumin
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Tbs Red Pepper
2 Cloves Garlic, chopped

Preparation:
Combine all ingredients and rub them on the Master Cut Ribs. Heat the propane grill to high. Place the rub on the ribs adjust the temp as needed. Place on the grill. Cook 30 minutes, 15 minutes on each side or to desired doneness. Cut into pieces and serve.

Cordova Senior Activities Center Volunteer Receives Recognition from Board of Supervisors

The Cordova Recreation and Park District is pleased to announce that Ed Dunn, Cordova Senior Activities Center Advisory Board Vice President and Center volunteer, was recognized by the Sacramento Board of Supervisors as an Outstanding Senior Volunteer for 2011. Mr. Dunn was presented the award by District 5 Supervisor Don Nottoli at the May 3rd Board of Supervisors meeting.

In addition to serving as Vice President of the Senior Advisory Board, Mr. Dunn has taken the lead in rewriting the Bylaws and ensuring that the vision and goals of the Advisory Board are preserved.
