CARMICHAEL, CA - We know firefighters rescue kitties stuck in trees and drain pipes but Monday, the call-out was for a cat entangled in the engine of a car.

Sacramento Metro Fire District Asst. Chief Scott Cockrum said it happened at an apartment complex near El Camino and Fair Oaks in Carmichael. The feline was discovered when the car owner went to start the engine and heard an unknown noise. Popping the hood, the driver saw an orange cat stuck in the fan belts of the motor.

People wanting to help pay for vet bills or apply to adopt Blaze can call the Sacramento Cat Hospital at (916) 488-4161.
